Meet
the Staff of Robeson Family Counseling Center

David
Crenshaw, D. Min.
Dr. Crenshaw is a pastoral counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist, and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. He has been
the Director of the Robeson Family Counseling Center since l998.
Dr. Crenshaw is an ordained Baptist Minister as a Southern Baptist
and has been practicing as a counselor for over 30 years. He has
a diverse background, which includes inpatient and outpatient substance
abuse treatment settings and serving as a director of a group treatment
home for children. He now specializes in couples
counseling as well as children and adolescents and provides treatment
for depression and anxiety for most life situation issues. Dr. Crenshaw
continues to work with families and individuals who struggle with
substance abuse.
He
holds the following degrees: D. Min. (Doctor of Ministry) 2005,
The Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, M. Div. degree, l973
from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a B.A. in Sociology
from Clemson University. He has extensive graduate work in Psychology
from Francis Marion University and in Marriage and Family Therapy
from East Carolina University.
His
Doctor of Ministry studies included a study of the Lumbee Native
American Culture for the purpose of a counseling ministry. This
study became a feature article in The
Robesonian Newspaper and was distributed nationwide
through the Associated Press. Dr. Crenshaw was selected by the South
Carolina Jaycees as the first recipient of the Outstanding Young
Religious Leader award in l979. He is married to Helen Crenshaw,
who has volunteered many hours to Robeson Family Counseling Center.
They enjoy golfing together and spending time at the beach with
family. |

Charles
J. Wentz, Jr., M.A.
Mr. Wentz is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He counsels individuals,
couples, children and adolescents treating for depression, anxiety,
and most problems related to personal, marital, and family life.
He also serves as the Commissioned Lay Pastor of Parkton Presbyterian
Church (USA), has 15 years of experience working with church youth
on a local, state and national basis and 35 years of leadership
experience in business and private entrepreneurship. He has been
married for 34 years and has two married children and two grandchildren.
Mr.
Wentz holds the following degrees: Master of Arts (Service Agency
Counseling), 2004, University of North Carolina at Pembroke and
Bachelor of Science (Business Administration), 1970, University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. |

Maureen
S. Adams
MA, is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional
Counselor. She received her masters degree from Oakland University
in Michigan in 2004. She completed post graduate work in Marriage
and Family counseling in addition to becoming a School Counselor.
Maureen
sees individuals, couples and families of various ages and counseling
concerns.

Karen
D. Nance, M.A. is a Licensed Professional Counselor,
a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.
She has been practicing within the field of Mental Health in various
capacities for 16 years, and provides counseling to individuals,
families, adults, children and couples. She has extensive experience
working with individuals with developmental disabilities and to
the survivors and caregivers of traumatic brain injury. Ms. Nance
has been with Robeson Family Counseling Center since spring of 2009.
She has been married since 2001, has a son and a stepson.
Ms.
Nance holds an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology
from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNC-P), a graduate
Master of Arts in Service Agency Counseling, also from UNC-P, and
an Associates degree from Miller Motte Business College. She is
certified in Critical Incident Stress Management.

Eleanor
is the Office Manager for Robeson Family Counseling Center, with offices
in Lumberton, Pembroke, Rockingham and Laurinburg. She says, "I
thoroughly enjoy my work at the center, where individuals and families
are not only helped mentally, but also spiritually. Our counseling
environment is a renovated church – it is so peaceful, and surreal
